Music, Memories and Emotion

23rd October 2015 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

£3

If you are caring for someone with dementia, either in a professional capacity or as a spouse, partner, family member or friend, this taster session may be of interest to you. Dancing for Well-Being is joining forces with Memory Bank to show you how triggering memories and emotions through films, music and dancing can re-ignite that vital spark of who a person is, enabling them to reconnect with their identities.

We’ll be taking you back to the always sunny, always hot summer holidays of the 1950s and 1960s! Buckets and spades, knotted handkerchiefs, knobbly knees competitions, 3d for an ice cream and a shilling for the pictures…

Then there’s the great music of course. We’ll be dancing and singing along to “records” like – “We’re all going on a summer holiday” and “Itsy bitsy yellow polka dot bikini”.

Tickets are available from the Library – telephone 01609 536658 or email harrogate.library@northyorks.gov.uk

Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
