Christmas Parties

We’ve had the most brilliant and busy couple of weeks, hosting seven Christmas parties for our groups! We had our usual festive dances followed by food from Community Stars Catering Services, and fabulous music by Misspent Ukes and Harrogate Spa Town Ukes. With visits from Valentina from the Co-op, and photographer Steven Eric Parker,  we think it’s fair to say the festive spirit was well and truly shining here at Dancing for Well-Being!

A big thank you to all our members for joining us in all their sparkles, our volunteers who support us week in, week out, as well as to Community Stars and the ukulele bands. See you all in the New Year!

Many Congratulations Jann & Nick!

After 4 attempts to get married – all of which were scuppered by COVID restrictions and lockdowns – our lovely Group Leader Jann Forde finally got married to Nick Goodman on 21st July! In the weeks and days before the wedding the groups gave Jann a good send-off with a lot of fun and some lovely lovely gifts….

Visit from Mayor and Mayoress of Harrogate

We were lucky enough to have a visit from the Mayor and Mayoress of the Borough of Harrogate, Cllr Trevor Chapman and Mrs Janet Chapman, to our Bilton group on January 19th. They were great sports, joining in enthusiastically with every dance.

Mayor, Cllr Trevor Chapman, said “The Mayoress and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit, and we fully appreciate all the benefits that it brings after taking part. We wish Dancing for Well-Being every success in the future”.

Cairn Hotel Tea Party

Thanks to a generous donation from the Arnold Clark Community Fund this year we were able to treat everyone in Dancing for Well-Being to a tea party at The Cairn Hotel on 17th September. We had fun and frolics with “Yorkshire Life Aquatic” – https://www.yorkshirelifeaquatic.co.uk/ – who danced us back to the glamour of 1950s Hollywood and the Million Dollar Mermaids. It was wonderful! Just what we all needed to lift our spirits and keep us going through the autumn and winter months.

And We’re Back!

Absolutely thrilled to be starting up our groups again. It’s 17th May 2021 and after a very long 14 months when we couldn’t meet because of the Covid pandemic it’s absolutely wonderful to get together again at our groups. We are dancing for joy 😍🙌 💃🏻
